This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to enter into a grant agreement with Erie Ohio Capital CDFI Fund LLC to fund the Broadleigh Lofts project. The project will consist of 84 affordable housing units across three separate three-story midrise buildings. The development will cater to a mix of income levels, providing housing options for households earning 30-80% of the area median income. Located on a 3.8-acre blighted site that has been vacant for over a decade, the project will transform the area into a vibrant community with on-site amenities including a manager’s office, community space, and a children’s playground. Additionally, 20% of the units will be set aside for homeless veterans, and the project will feature accessible and supportive housing units. The site’s strategic location offers proximity to essential services, public transportation, and educational facilities.
