On July 16, 2025, the City Council passed Ordinance O2025-0018163, a zoning reclassification sponsored by Alderman Felix Cardona Jr. The ordinance amends the Chicago Zoning Ordinance by changing the zoning of the property located at 3037-43 N Cicero Avenue from a C2-1 Motor Vehicle-Related Commercial District to a B1-1 Neighborhood Shopping District. The change applies to the area bound by a line 149.27 feet south of and parallel to West Barry Avenue, the alley next east of and parallel to North Cicero Avenue, a line 249.27 feet south of and parallel to West Barry Avenue, and North Cicero Avenue. The matter was introduced on June 18, 2025, referred to committee, and recommended to pass by the Committee on Zoning, Landmarks and Building Standards on July 15, 2025. The City Council passed the ordinance on July 16, 2025, on motion of Alderperson Burnett, with an unsuccessful motion to reconsider by Alderperson Mitchell.
