The Chicago City Council approved an ordinance to reclassify the zoning of the property located at 822 N California Ave. The zoning was changed from C1-2 Neighborhood Commercial District to B2-3 Neighborhood Mixed-Use District. The reclassification applies to an area generally bounded by a line 166 feet north of and parallel to West Chicago Avenue, North California Avenue, a line 141 feet north of and parallel to West Chicago Avenue, and the alley next west of and parallel to North California Avenue. This change permits a broader range of uses, including residential, on the parcel.
