The City Council approved a redevelopment agreement with Twisted Eggroll LLC to provide neighborhood funds for the renovation of a 6,500 square foot commercial property. The property at 657 East 75th Street will be transformed into a commercial/production kitchen to enhance the distribution capacity of the Chicago-based frozen food business. The project, with an estimated total cost of $1,395,776, will receive $859,238 in funding through the Neighborhood Opportunity Fund (NOF) Ordinance, which includes a Capital Grant of $784,238 and $75,000 for local hiring initiatives. This agreement aims to strengthen neighborhood commercial corridors and foster business development and job creation in areas experiencing economic deprivation. The Developer is required to comply with local hiring and residency requirements, ensuring at least two new employees are hired from a Qualified Investment Area and maintained for a minimum of 12 weeks, working at least 20 hours per week.
