The Charlotte City Council approved a $6,589,609.40 contract with United of Carolinas, Inc. for the Farmer Storm Drainage Improvement Project. This critical infrastructure initiative aims to reduce flooding and replace aging drainage infrastructure along Romare Bearden Drive and across Clanton Road, specifically from West Boulevard to Clanton Road in Council District 3. The comprehensive scope of work includes grading, new storm drainage systems, water and sanitary sewer lines, curb and gutter installation, sidewalk construction, driveway improvements, and asphalt paving. United of Carolinas, Inc. was selected as the lowest responsive bidder among four proposals received by the city on April 9, 2025. The project is anticipated to be completed by the second quarter of 2027.
