The Charlotte City Council approved a supplemental municipal agreement with the North Carolina Department of Transportation to adjust the project limits for the Belk Greenway Connector Phase I. Initially planned to connect Baxter Street to South Davidson Street, the project now extends from Baxter Street to Martin Luther King Boulevard along South McDowell Street. The adjustment aligns with the Uptown Connects Study's recommendations for linking greenways and urban trails to improve connectivity in Uptown Charlotte. This project is funded through a $1,716,000 allocation from the State Transportation Improvement Program.
Enhances urban mobility by improving pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, supports sustainable urban development, and fosters connectivity across the Uptown area.
