The City of Atlanta approved an ordinance to convey its interest in three vacant, unimproved, single-family lots located at 1586 South Gordon Street SW, 2040 Main Street NW, and 0 Pulliam Road to the Fulton County/City of Atlanta Land Bank Authority, Inc. (d/b/a Metro Atlanta Land Bank) for a consideration of $1.00. The purpose of this transfer is to return the properties to effective utilization status by providing permanently affordable housing. The ordinance waives certain competitive bidding requirements of the City of Atlanta Code of Ordinances and stipulates that the deeds will include a reversionary interest for the City if a residential dwelling unit with a Certificate of Occupancy is not issued within three years of conveyance. The Community Development/Human Services Committee recommended the ordinance favorably with a 6-0 vote on August 12, 2025.
