An ordinance by the Transportation Committee authorized the Mayor or their designee, on behalf of the City of Atlanta, to abandon and convey a 0.016-acre portion of a public street, formerly known as Travis Street (f/k/a Wilson Street), to Benjamin Dosetareh. The applicant, Benjamin Dosetareh, requested the abandonment and is the owner of all parcels abutting the proposed abandonment area. The City of Atlanta received a fee of $2,500.00 for advertising the abandonment and appraising the area, and the applicant agreed to pay the fair market value. All revenue will be deposited into the Safety & Mobility Capital Finance Fund. The abandoned area will become part of the applicant's abutting property, and the applicant will be responsible for its maintenance and services. The Commissioner of the Department of Transportation confirmed that the area is no longer necessary for public use. The City Council adopted the ordinance by a consent vote of 12-0.
