An ordinance was approved authorizing the Mayor of Atlanta to acquire property interests at five locations for the Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHBs) project. This authorization includes conducting negotiations with property owners, performing title searches, appraisals, and surveys necessary for the acquisitions. In the event that negotiations are unsuccessful, the ordinance grants the Mayor and City Attorney the authority to initiate condemnation proceedings through the declaration of taking method. Furthermore, the ordinance waives specific provisions of Article X, Real Estate and Procurement Code, of the City of Atlanta Code of Ordinances. All associated contracted work and payments for property interests are to be funded from designated account numbers.
