On May 19, 2025, Atlanta City Council adopted Ordinance 25-O-1290 to approve a special use permit for a community center at 2028 Chicago Avenue NW. The permit, sought by Vernon L. Krause of Angie's Kitchen, Inc., authorizes a public community center on a 0.379-acre site in NPU J, Council District 3. The property fronts 99.73 feet on the south side of Chicago Avenue NW with a depth of 161.81 feet. The application was filed on April 1, 2025 (Case U-25-12) and reviewed by the Zoning Committee prior to final passage. The ordinance allows adaptive reuse of the site for community services and includes standard conditions for parking, signage, and hours of operation.
