This ordinance authorizes the Mayor or designee to accept and appropriate a federal grant award of $2,800,000 from the Atlanta Regional Commission and Georgia Department of Transportation for the South Downtown Pedestrian Enhancements Project (GDOT Project No. 0015019). It amends the FY2025 Intergovernmental Grant Fund budget by adding $2,800,000 to both anticipations and appropriations under the Department of Transportation’s Capital Project Administration account. The Project will reconfigure Peachtree Street between Trinity Avenue and Alabama Street by converting a four-lane intersection to two lanes, creating parallel parking, widening sidewalks with ADA ramps, installing crosswalks, landscaping, seating areas, and pedestrian safety elements. The ordinance also authorizes the Mayor or designee to negotiate and execute all necessary grant agreements with ARC, GDOT, FTA, and any partner organization, and provides that no liability binds the City until agreements are executed.
