  • City: Atlanta
  • State: GA
  • Category: Infrastructure Development

This ordinance authorizes the City of Atlanta to reimburse MARTA up to $6,304,312 from the 2024 AURA bond program for reconstruction and resurfacing of the general purpose (non-transit) lanes on Hank Aaron Drive SE/Capitol Avenue SE between Martin Luther King Jr Drive SE and McDonough Blvd SE as part of the Summerhill BRT project. Summerhill BRT is a 5-mile roundtrip bus rapid transit line connecting the Atlanta BeltLine to downtown, featuring dedicated lanes and passenger amenities for faster, more reliable service. The City requested that MARTA incorporate non-transit lane resurfacing into its construction scope while funding that work through the Series 2024B AURA bonds. MARTA’s contractors will rebuild and resurface the general purpose lanes according to the approved plan in Appendix A. The City will reimburse MARTA monthly upon submission of detailed invoices and supporting documentation under Section 3. Reimbursements will be charged to project code 3168/330301/5999999/4210000/400216/22554. This IGA supplements the More MARTA IGA (20-R-4194) and aligns with bond financing approved by Ordinance 24-O-1483. It becomes binding once approved by the City Attorney, executed by the Mayor, attested by the Clerk, and delivered to MARTA.
