Ordinance 25-O-1059 approves annexation of certain contiguous parcels in the Brighton Village Subdivision from unincorporated DeKalb County into the City of Atlanta and amends the 2021 Comprehensive Development Plan’s Land Use Element to designate those parcels as Low Density Residential (LDR). The annexation petitions, submitted under the 60% method, were found to meet statutory contiguity requirements under O.C.G.A. § 36-36-1 et seq. and were recommended for LDR designation by the Office of Zoning & Development. Upon annexation, the parcels will become subject to all city ordinances and services, and all conflicting ordinances are waived to the extent of the conflict. The ordinance was sponsored by Councilmembers Alex Wan (District 6) and Liliana Bakhtiari (District 5) and was approved unanimously as amended by the Community Development/Human Services Committee.
