This ordinance authorizes the Mayor or his designee to waive the competitive bidding requirements and execute the second amendment to Cooperative Agreement CP-G-1210339 with United Rentals (North America), Inc., adding funding not to exceed Five Hundred Seventy Thousand Dollars ($570,000) for the rental of medium and heavy-duty equipment for the Atlanta Department of Transportation. Originally adopted by Resolution 21-R-3673 in August 2021 to lease equipment up to $1,000,000 annually, the agreement was corrected in October 2021 to fix the term and extended in November 2024 by $125,000 through August 27, 2025. The second amendment increases the funding pool to ensure continued access to vital machinery needed for road maintenance and infrastructure improvement. All contracted work will be charged to specified DOT fund, organization, and account numbers, facilitating transparent budget allocation and efficient execution. The Chief Procurement Officer, in consultation with the City Attorney, is directed to prepare and finalize the necessary documents, and the amendment only becomes binding once fully executed and approved as to form.
