An ordinance was adopted by the City Council of Atlanta to zone certain parcels located in the Brighton Village Subdivision to MR-1 (Multi Family Residential) zoning upon annexation into the corporate limits of the City of Atlanta. The annexation was initiated by resident electors and property owners using the 60% method. The Office of Zoning & Development recommended the MR-1 zoning, which is consistent with the current DeKalb County zoning for the properties. The City Council found the MR-1 designation appropriate and approved the annexation and rezoning with a 12-0 vote.
