The City Council authorized the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with MARTA to reimburse up to $6,304,312 for resurfacing the general-purpose lanes of Hank Aaron Drive SE as part of the MARTA Rapid Summerhill BRT Project. Funding will be provided from the Series 2024B AURA Surface Transportation bonds previously approved for roadway resurfacing ahead of the FIFA World Cup. MARTA’s contractor will undertake reconstruction and resurfacing from Martin Luther King Jr Drive SE to McDonough Boulevard SE, including consultant and contractor services. The Chief Procurement Officer is empowered to issue purchase orders under the agreement, and reimbursements will be charged to DOT Capital Project Administration budgets. The agreement becomes binding once approved as to form, executed by the Mayor, attested by the Municipal Clerk, and delivered to MARTA.
