This ordinance authorizes the Mayor or his designee to accept up to $2.8 million in federal funding through the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Georgia Department of Transportation for the South Downtown Pedestrian Enhancements project (GDOT Project No. 0015019). The project will reconfigure Peachtree Street between Trinity Avenue and Alabama Street from a four-lane to a two-lane roadway, providing parallel parking, widened ADA-compliant sidewalks, crosswalks, landscaping, seating areas, and pedestrian safety improvements. It also amends the Fiscal Year 2025 Intergovernmental Grant Fund budget to add $2.8 million in federal anticipations and appropriations, and authorizes the execution of agreements with ARC, GDOT, the Federal Transit Administration, and partner organizations for grant implementation. The ordinance ensures no liability until all agreements are duly executed and repeals any conflicting ordinances to the extent of the conflict.
