The City of Atlanta authorized the Mayor to accept an in-kind donation of services and materials valued up to $142,500 from Georgia Power Company to conduct energy audits and implement Aeroseal duct-sealing technology across up to three selected municipal buildings. Under a 12-month Commercial Aeroseal Duct Sealing Pilot Agreement, Aeroseal Inc. will perform HVAC leak diagnostics, seal ductwork, and provide all necessary materials at no cost to the city. This pilot agreement supports the City’s commitment under Atlanta City Code Section 1-102 and aligns with the Clean Energy Atlanta Plan goal of achieving 100% clean energy by 2035. The project targets outdated HVAC systems and infrastructure inefficiencies that drive up energy costs, divert public resources, and increase greenhouse gas emissions. By sealing leaks in air conditioning and ventilation systems, the pilot will enhance indoor air quality, improve occupant comfort, and reduce utility expenditures. The agreement term commences upon issuance of a notice to proceed and runs for twelve months with no renewal option. The City Attorney’s Office will finalize the agreement documents, and the contract becomes binding only after form approval, mayoral signature, municipal clerk attestation, and delivery to Georgia Power Company.
