The San Francisco Board of Supervisors authorized the Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) to accept a $45 million grant from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The funds are part of the Infill Infrastructure Grant Program and are designated for infrastructure improvements to support three major, long-term redevelopment projects. These projects include the Sunnydale HOPE SF Development (up to 1,770 housing units), the Treasure Island Project (up to 8,000 units), and the India Basin Development (up to 1,575 units). The grant will facilitate the revitalization of these areas by funding necessary capital improvements for the development of thousands of new affordable, market-rate, and replacement public housing units. The agreement period for the grant funding extends through June 30, 2031.
