The San Francisco Board of Supervisors authorized the Sheriff's Office to finalize a five-year contract worth up to $22,000,000 with ARAMARK Correctional Services, Inc. to provide food services for the city's jail facilities. The agreement, which includes two potential one-year extensions, follows a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process initiated in May 2025. The decision was enabled by a Board action on July 15, 2025, which certified that a private contractor could deliver the services more economically than city employees. ARAMARK is tasked with meeting all state nutritional and health standards and will also implement a culinary training and certification program for incarcerated individuals.
