The contract, running from July 2026 to June 2031, supports the nonprofit's work in coordinating exchange programs in business, arts, culture, and education with Phoenix's 11 sister cities. The funding will support Youth Ambassador scholarships, the potential addition of four new sister cities, business development programs to increase foreign direct investment, and support for 50th-anniversary celebrations with Hermosillo, Himeji, and Taipei. Funding is allocated annually, starting at $345,000 in FY 2026-27, and is sourced from the Community and Economic Development Department's operating budget.
