The application was submitted by the Landmarks Preservation Commission to protect the building under the city's preservation laws. Following introduction on October 29, 2025, the proposal was reviewed by the Subcommittee on Landmarks, Public Sitings and Dispositions and the Committee on Land Use. The final approval and adoption by the full City Council occurred on November 25, 2025.
