The Metropolitan Council authorized an ordinance to improve sanitary sewer infrastructure for three properties. The project involves abandoning approximately 96 linear feet of an existing 8-inch sewer main, two manholes, and their associated easements. Concurrently, the city will accept 96 linear feet of new 8-inch PVC sewer main and two new manholes to replace the old infrastructure. The Metropolitan Planning Commission reviewed and recommended approval for the project on October 7, 2023, as a mandatory referral. The work is designated as MWS Project No. 25-SL-142. According to a fiscal note, the abandonment and donation of easements have no market value and the project will not have a cost to Metro.
