The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has been authorized to enter into a grant contract with the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, for a $2,000,000.00 lead-based paint hazard reduction program. This initiative aims to mitigate health risks associated with lead paint in eligible residential properties throughout Davidson County, primarily focusing on protecting children and vulnerable populations. The grant funding will cover comprehensive activities, including risk assessments, lead hazard control, and various interim controls to foster safer living environments. Ordinance O2025-542, introduced by Delishia Porterfield and co-sponsored by Nancy VanReece, received unanimous approval with a 35-0 vote from the Metro Nashville Council on July 2, 2025.
