A proposal to rezone approximately 1.5 acres from R-5 (Single-Family Residential) to R-6 (Multi-Family Residential) to permit the development of a 45-unit affordable multi-family housing complex. The project includes three 3-story buildings, a community garden, and a playground. The development aims to address the shortage of affordable housing in the Portland neighborhood. Key conditions include providing a detailed landscaping plan with native species, maintaining a minimum of 60% green space, allocating 100% of units for households earning 60% or less of the Area Median Income (AMI) for a minimum of 30 years, and contributing $50,000 to the Louisville Affordable Housing Trust Fund. The Louisville Metro Planning Commission recommended approval (6-1) to the Louisville Metro Council.
