The Jacksonville City Council unanimously approved a new three-year collective bargaining agreement with the Communications Workers of America (CWA), which represents approximately 450 city employees. The agreement will be effective from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2028. The ordinance, introduced at the request of the Mayor, formalizes the terms that had been previously negotiated and ratified by the union membership. The City Council passed the measure with a 17-0 vote on November 25, 2025, after reviews by the Finance, Rules, and Transportation, Energy, & Utilities committees. The agreement is now awaiting the Mayor's signature to become fully effective.
