The Jacksonville City Council approved a small-scale future land use amendment for a 3.47-acre property, changing its designation from Low Density Residential (LDR) to Medium Density Residential (MDR). The site, located at 3062 Sunnybrook Court, was previously zoned for up to 17 dwelling units. The change allows for the development of up to 52 single-family or townhome units. The Planning Commission and the Land Use and Zoning Committee both recommended approval. The amendment is intended to facilitate infill development in an Urban Priority Area, consistent with the 2045 Comprehensive Plan. The City Council passed the ordinance with a 17-0 vote. A companion rezoning application (2025-0173) changes the zoning from Residential Low Density-60 (RLD-60) to Residential Medium Density-D (RMD-D).
