The Jacksonville Planning Commission approved a small-scale future land use amendment for a 0.11-acre property located at the end of Veronica Street. The amendment changes the designation from Public Buildings and Facilities (PBF) to Low Density Residential (LDR). The applicant, Chris Middlebrooks, sought the change to allow for the construction of a single-family home on the vacant lot, which is surrounded by other low-density residential properties. The Planning Department recommended approval, finding the proposal consistent with the 2045 Comprehensive Plan and compatible with the surrounding neighborhood. The Planning Commission voted 6-0 in favor of the approval. A companion rezoning from Planned Unit Development (PUD) to Residential Low Density-60 (RLD-60) is being processed concurrently.
