The Jacksonville City Council approved the rezoning of a 0.11-acre parcel from Planned Unit Development (PUD) to Residential Low-Density (RLD-60). The applicant, Asher REI LLC, intends to develop a single-family home on the vacant lot. The site was previously part of a larger PUD established in 1993 for an adult care facility and housing for the elderly. A companion future land use map amendment from Public Buildings and Facilities (PBF) to Low-Density Residential (LDR) was also approved. The Planning Department and Planning Commission both recommended approval, finding the request consistent with the city's 2045 Comprehensive Plan and compatible with the surrounding single-family residential neighborhood. The Land Use & Zoning Committee approved the measure 4-0.
