The City of Jacksonville Planning and Development Department filed an application to amend the 2030 Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map. The proposed change is from Residential Low Density (RLD) to Light Industrial (LI) for approximately 12.01 acres located on the south side of Maxwell Road East, south of Maxwell Road and west of Old Kings Road. The decision, made on September 10, 2024, by the City Council, approved this change. This rezoning is intended to facilitate future industrial development in the area, aligning with the city's broader economic development goals. The approval includes a new future land use map and provisions for exceptions and severability.
