The Columbus City Council approved a $2.5 million grant agreement with Columbus Housing Partnership Inc. for the third phase of an affordable housing development at Easton Town Center. This final phase involves the new construction of a four-story building containing 50 apartment units, which will be reserved for households earning at or below 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). The project, called Easton Place Phase III, will complete a larger 200-unit affordable housing initiative co-developed by Columbus Housing Partnership (dba Homeport) and The Georgetown Company. The development is financed through a combination of the city's grant, 4% federal and state Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), a permanent loan, and a deferred developer fee. The building will be LEED certified and includes amenities shared with the previous phases.
