This ordinance amends a 2023 rezoning (Z19-060) for the 47.16-acre former Cooper Stadium site. The original rezoning established a Commercial Planned Development (CPD) district to allow for a large mixed-use development combining commercial, industrial, and potentially residential uses. This amendment, Z19-060A, specifically modifies the CPD text to permit cemetery uses and the construction of mausoleum buildings along the southern edge of the property, adjacent to the existing Green Lawn Cemetery. The change is prompted by the cemetery's need to expand. A special permit for the cemetery use has already been approved by the Board of Zoning Adjustment. All other development standards and commitments from the original ordinance regarding the mixed-use project remain in effect. The Southwest Area Commission and city departments have recommended approval.
