The Chicago City Council approved a $4,339,060 Neighborhood Opportunity Fund (NOF) grant for the development of a 66,103-square-foot, mixed-use project at 5036-5046 S. Prairie Avenue in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. The project, developed by 5050 Prairie LLC, will include 49 residential units and ground-floor commercial space intended for a new restaurant. Of the 49 apartments, five will be designated as affordable units. The total estimated project cost is $15,784,143, with the NOF grant filling a key funding gap. The development is expected to create 12 permanent jobs and 150 temporary construction jobs.
