The Chicago City Council has approved an ordinance authorizing an intergovernmental agreement with the Chicago Park District. This agreement allocates up to $1,000,000 in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) from the Madden/Wells TIF District for significant improvements at Ellis Park. The funding will be used to reconstruct the park's playground, build a new water play feature, and enhance site access and landscaping. The measure was passed following a recommendation from the Committee on Finance.
