The Chicago City Council has approved the 2026 budget for Special Service Area (SSA) #7, also known as the Kedzie Industrial Tract. The ordinance authorizes a total tax levy of $149,835 for the 2025 tax year to fund the budget. The majority of the funds are allocated to public health and safety programs ($107,500), with additional amounts for personnel, SSA management, and public way aesthetics. The Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council will continue to serve as the service provider, managing the implementation of these services. The levy represents a 0.67% increase from the previous year. The ordinance passed on a motion by Alderperson Mosley.
