The Chicago City Council has approved the annual tax levy for Special Service Area (SSA) #10, covering the Back of the Yards neighborhood. A total of $483,790 will be levied for the 2025 tax year to fund the SSA's 2026 budget. These funds are designated for special services aimed at improving the area, including customer attraction, public way aesthetics, economic and business development, and public safety programs. The Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council is the designated service provider, and the Back of the Yards Special Service Area Commission provides oversight. The ordinance was passed by the City Council on November 14, 2025.
