The Chicago City Council has approved a zoning change for the property at 930 W. Huron Street from M1-3 Limited Manufacturing/Business Park District to DR-5 Downtown Residential District. The applicant plans to demolish an existing three-story industrial building to construct a new six-story, 35-unit residential building with 29 parking spaces. The 7,650-square-foot site is located in a transit-served area. The project required and received approval for several variations, including reductions in setbacks, an increase in the maximum building height to 74 feet, an increase in the number of parking spaces, and the elimination of a required loading berth. The council passed the substitute ordinance on November 14, 2025.
