The Chicago City Council has approved a zoning change for the properties at 3530-3536 N Milwaukee Ave, reclassifying the area from a C1-1 Neighborhood Commercial District to a B2-3 Neighborhood Mixed-Use District. The applicant sought the change to accommodate the construction of two multi-dwelling residential buildings. The development will introduce a total of 9 new dwelling units, split between a 6-unit and a 3-unit building. Despite the new 'Mixed-Use' zoning, the project is entirely residential with no commercial space planned. The buildings will have maximum heights of 34'-10" and 35'-6" and will be supported by 9 off-street parking stalls. The ordinance was passed by the City Council on November 14, 2025.
