The property, owned by DRB Group North Carolina LLC, is located in western Mecklenburg County along the Catawba River. The petitioner intends to redevelop the currently vacant site with a 241-unit residential project, comprising 100 townhouses and 141 single-family homes. The property is currently zoned MX-2 INNOV (mixed use, innovative). This annexation is a preliminary step required before the development can proceed and receive city services.
