The Charlotte City Council approved a voluntary annexation request for the 133.451-acre 'Long Creek at McClure' site in northern Mecklenburg County. The site, composed of 17 parcels, is located east of Brookshire Boulevard and north of Pleasant Grove Road. The annexation is intended to extend municipal services to the area to facilitate a future residential development. The proposed project includes 146 single-family detached units, 132 duplex units, and 159 triplex units, totaling 437 new residences. The property is currently zoned N1-A by the county, and all existing structures will be removed for the redevelopment. City staff determined the annexation would have minimal impact on municipal services and that potential revenue would exceed service costs. The annexed territory will be assigned to City Council District 2.
