The City of Charlotte and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education petitioned to amend the Charlotte Future 2040 Policy Map and rezone approximately 18.06 acres located at 2701 and 2715 Rocky River Rd. The rezoning was approved to change the classification from Institutional (INST) to Campus Institutional (CI). This change is intended to facilitate the expansion of Rocky River High School. The expansion plans include the construction of new academic buildings, enhanced athletic facilities, and additional parking areas, all designed to accommodate the school's increasing student population.
