Tucson Secures Funding for Housing Redevelopment: Transforming Mobile Home Parks

The City of Tucson’s Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has secured funding through a grant application to HUD under the Preservation and Reinvestment Initiative for Community Enhancement (PRICE) Notice of Funding Opportunity. This funding will be used to convert two mobile home parks into resident-owned communities, rehabilitate and/or replace up to 300 units of manufactured housing, and provide comprehensive legal and financial eviction prevention assistance for manufactured housing residents located in Tucson and throughout Pima County.

Why it matters

This funding is crucial for stabilizing and preserving manufactured housing, ensuring affordable housing options for residents. By converting mobile home parks into resident-owned communities, it empowers residents with ownership and control over their living conditions. The rehabilitation and replacement of up to 300 units will significantly improve living standards, while eviction prevention assistance ensures housing stability for vulnerable populations. This initiative aligns with Tucson’s commitment to enhancing housing affordability and quality, fostering a supportive and sustainable community environment.
